Candied Grapefruit from Sol Spirit Farm in Trinity County, CA

This cultivar is memorable in several ways. Grown outdoor on an organic regenerative farm the love the farm puts in shines bright when handling and smoking. She brings the fruit and the floral to the table. The cotton candy, juicy fruit gum, sweet pine sap and caramel green apple left me wanting to go eat my favorite candy as a kid. The aromas brought the fresh spring fruit and floral notes.

The fruit brought the pink grapefruit, lemon pith, cumquat, key lime, caramel green apple, kiwi flesh – straight juicy fruit gum. The floral rounded out the array of sweets to compliment the fruit. Jasmine, honeysuckle, and gardenia with some plumeria, rose notes and definite pine sap but fresh and sweet pine sap.

Bright green hues dominate with orange hairs filling gaps her maturity was on point. Tactile was fantastic with just the right kinetic sand response when rolling up. Trichome coverage was dense with many intact to be found using a quality loop.

I was surprised the flavors held on to align with the aroma profiles - they did evolve into a deeper taste of chocolate or coffee or roasted grains but deeper like malted barley. Started off like older sweet chewing gum and went into white chocolate or coffee with sugar and milk or maybe that French vanilla sweetener.

The lineage rings true to the aroma and flavors - Tangie x BBM x Mac & Cheese – which totally makes sense as she rings in with heavy fruit and floral notes. Sweet and piney. Myrcene, Caryophellene, and Limonene dominate, and the effects reflect that breakdown.

Highly recommend this cultivar for a get things done daytime experience. Mentally stimulating and physically balanced I was left wanting to go for a skate sesh or swim in the ocean. Fast acting and the duration was moderate and didn’t last too long.
