Overview
Farm Cut is a co-op consisting of five diverse cannabis farms that truly believe in stewarding the environments in which they grow. All of the farms sold under the Farm Cut brand are Sun+Earth Certified, and their sungrown flower’s signature farm cut will preserve the aromatic compounds from the farm to your jar.

The Heritage
Farm Cut was founded in 2019 by like minded farms from three of the most well known legacy cannabis producing regions of California: Briceland Forest Farm and Whitethorn Valley Farm represent Humboldt County, Happy Day Farm and Emerald Spirit Botanicals hold it down in Mendocino County, while Down OM Farms hails from Nevada County. All five Farm Cut farms are Sun+Earth Certified and dedicated to putting the Earth first. That means regenerative and sun grown cannabis only.
Additionally, all the cannabis flower distributed through Farm Cut is “minimally processed” to better preserve cannabinoids and terpenes in the trichomes. This dedication to preserving the untrimmed look has a long history among legacy farmers. Back in the day, farmers in Northern California would share untrimmed, “farm cut” cannabis with each other because that was what they kept for their headstash.
Now, Farm Cut is making sure that anybody can experience the farmer’s headstash, and even a brief moment of bliss on the farm. Each farm hand picks and hand packages their flower, and the jars are vacuum sealed on site – meaning that first jar pop also includes a tiny breath of fresh air from the farm itself.
Farm Cut believes that showcasing the full-term, sungrown flower in all its glory requires a return to respecting the plant. Besides growing cannabis in tune with the sun and earth, each farm also grows non-cannabis produce for their local community. Farm Cut’s constituent farms and farmers are proud to be stewards of their environment and are clear leaders of the growing sustainability movement in Cannabis.

The Ethos
The five Sun+Earth Certified farms that make up Farm Cut hail from three of the most well known legacy cannabis producing regions of California and are dedicated to continuing the sustainable growing and sharing practices that were developed.
These legacy farms saw that in the increasingly competitive cannabis market, small farmers that believed in the power of sungrown cannabis needed to cooperate together in order to survive. While each farm may have different strategies for how they go about farming or the market, as a group everybody works towards sustainability with regenerative practices and no artificial inputs.
This Earth-first approach is utilized by many individual farms in legacy cannabis producing regions, but Farm Cut is the shining example of a cooperation between multiple small legacy farmers to claim fair pay.
Besides being committed to bringing sungrown flower to the market, Farm Cut is also committed to careful preservation of trichomes and sustainable packaging. In Northern California, farmers present their best flower to each other lightly trimmed, or completely untrimmed and in mason jars. As a co-op, Farm Cut is proud to offer that previously exclusive experience to cannabis flower enthusiasts around the state. Simply put: Farm Cut views the farm cut trim as a tradition, and are the leaders in sharing that aspect of cannabis culture with those that are new to cannabis.
Every farm under the Farm Cut label is Sun+Earth Certified. Craft flower is their game, and regenerative practices are the only tools they use. This commitment to being open to participating in a feedback loop with their local environment allows each farm to showcase their unique terroir alongside their unique cultivars.
This Earth-first approach is utilized by many individual farms in legacy cannabis producing regions, but Farm Cut is the shining example of a cooperation between multiple small legacy farmers to claim fair pay. Each individual farm under Farm Cut has its own specialties: Whether that’s local heirloom cultivars, unique sources of inputs like alpacas, or spiritually and scientifically breeding for minor cannabinoids.
Once grown with all that love, all flower sold under the Farm Cut brand is “minimally processed” and receives what is colloquially referred to as the “farm cut” – a light hand trimming or lack of trimming that does not match the aesthetic norms of indoor flower and that connoisseurs find they prefer. The light trim preserves trichomes which contain all the desired cannabinoids and terpenes, encourages a more even dry and cure, and ensures that the end user gets a product that is as the farmer intended – as close to farm to table or bowl or paper as possible: As fragrant and potent as possible.
When you see Farm Cut at a dispensary, the beautiful flower serves as the perfect visual entry point that sets a Farm Cut jar apart from just about everything else in the dispensary. Farm to table is all the rage in the culinary industry, and Farm Cut brings that same level of attention to detail to cannabis.
