The Heritage

Huckleberry Hill Farms is a 2nd generation family farm that is owned and operated by John Casali and his partner Rose Moberly. His family moved to the property in 1976 and John’s mom & dad quickly tapped into the magic of this prized terroir, realizing that it possessed ideal growing conditions for cultivating fruits, vegetables, and the finest sungrown cannabis in the world. When John was just 15 years old, his mother allowed him to start cultivating cannabis on the farm, and by the end of that growing season the budding young entrepreneur purchased an 11-acre parcel to start his own cultivation.

John’s mother was the original cultivator of the Froot Loops cultivar-which was later renamed Paradise Punch-and this strain has served as the matriarch for the entire lineage of cultivars that have defined Huckleberry Hill Farms. Their coveted Whitethorn Rose strain has gained a lot of popularity in recent months as it recently won two awards at the Emerald Cup for their collaboration with Heritage Hash Co (side note: fans of solventless concentrates should definitely check out Heritage’s Whitethorn Rose Live Rosin and Bubble Hash!). Another fan favorite is the Mom’s Weed strain, which placed in the top 10 Sungrown Flower category.

John and his family represent the heart and soul of the Humboldt cannabis community not only because of their deep roots in the region, but because they represent the pioneering, risk-taking spirit that gave birth to the American cannabis industry. We owe a debt of gratitude to the people who have paved the way and fought on the front lines of cannabis prohibition, and the story of Huckleberry Hill Farms would not be complete without acknowledging that John spent 8 years in prison for growing a plant that we can all legally purchase in California today.

The Ethos

John and Rose pay homage to their cannabis heritage by celebrating the Humboldt community and terroir in everything that they do at Huckleberry Hill Farms. Their stunning 40-acre farm is a sanctuary for the flora and fauna that defines this region, and they take meticulous care in preserving this beautiful ecosystem by using regenerative farming techniques and abiding by strict sustainability standards. The farm is Sun+Earth Certified and it was among the first in California to get approved under the Fish Friendly Farming certification. Their love and commitment to sustainability can be felt throughout the farm, and this level of care translates directly to the quality you’ll find in all of the products that they produce.

Most of the cultivars grown at Huckleberry Hill Farms are named after members of John and Rose’s family, or to members of the community in which they serve. This is an incredible testament to the memory of those who have touched their lives-be it the pioneers who sacrificed to create their family legacy, or to the patients who persevered through life’s greatest challenges with the help of Huckleberry’s incredible plant medicine. That deep emotional connection is something that their customers get to share every time they consume the products that this magical farm yields.

The Products

Huckleberry Hill Farms specializes in cultivating strains that are vibrantly colored, highly aromatic and very flavorful, displaying an incredible array of fruity and floral notes. The Paradise Punch that gave birth to their cultivar family is a sativa-dominant hybrid, so as a general rule their flower varieties tend to be uplifting, energetic and euphoric although effects will vary

We encourage customers to explore the strains that best meet their needs. The most popular cultivars in their collection include: Whitethorn Rose, Huckleberries, Riddlez, Mom’s Weed, Margie’s Magic, Amalfi, Mountain Mist, and Super Fruit.

Huckleberry Hill Farms primarily offers pre-rolls and whole flower packaged eighths and quarters, both of which are available throughout California in select retail stores. The farm also collaborates with other flower brands-such as Willie’s Reserve, Redwood Roots and Farmer & The Felon-so if you can’t find their flower under the Huckleberry brand, you should inquire about these options. And for those who prefer to consume connoisseur concentrates, be sure to look for collaborations with hash producers like Heritage Hash Co!
