Kanha 2:1 CBG:THC Acai Blueberry Gummies are a very unique edible due to the presence of cannabigerol, or CBG.  CBG, like CBD, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid with many health benefits.  Among these are anti-inflammation, pain relief and anxiety relief, which were the benefits I was looking for today.
These are my favorite edibles to take before, during and after a hike.  The pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties of the CBG are very evident.  I don’t drink coffee or consume caffeine in any form, so I like to smoke an energetic strain with a high percentage of the terpenes Limonene and/or Terpinolene for a little extra boost.  Terpinolene can cause anxiety, but the anti-anxiety properties of the CBG help to balance that out.

Each gummy contains 10mg of THC and 20mg of CBG, and there are ten gummies in the package for a total of 100mg of THC and 200mg of CBG.  This review is based on my Minimum Effective Dose (MED), which is the smallest amount needed to achieve the desired effect.  My MED is 50mg of THC, so I ate five gummies.  If you’re unsure of your MED, it is recommended to start with 5mg of THC, or half of one gummy.  Wait 90 minutes before incrementally adding 5mg as needed.  Your MED may change as your tolerance gets higher or lower.

The package is fairly easy to open.  Once inside the bag, the aroma is as advertised.  You can definitely pick up the hints of both blueberry and acai.  There is no cannabis smell.  The gummies are soft and have a light sugar coating.  They’re small, about the size of a penny, making it a decent option for those with a higher tolerance.  The flavor profile is right on with the aroma.  You can taste both fruits equally, and that’s really all you taste.  They’re not overly chewy, making it easier to eat a few at a time.

I consumed my first dose (50mg) about 30 minutes before my hike.  I was pain-free through the first half of the hike, with a nice balanced high from the THC, which always makes a hike more enjoyable for me.  About halfway through, I started to have some pain in my lower back, so I took a second dose.  It took this dose a little while to take effect, but after about 45 minutes my back started to feel better.  When the hike was over another hour later, I ate one more dose to help with recovery.  My back pain was gone, and my knees, which would normally be swollen and sore, were also pain-free.  Before consuming three doses of THC in a four hour period, please consider how your body reacts to larger amounts of THC.  It may make more sense for you to split one or two doses into three parts.

If you want to dabble with alternative cannabinoids, CBG is a great one to start with.  These gummies not only taste good, but they offer the desired and promised effect consistently.  They have been a staple of mine for some time, and they will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
