Baby Turtle by Khalifa Kush

92 Points
This is my first review of Khalifa Kush flower on Budist - their latest cultivar, Baby Turtle - and it was an amazing experience!
Baby Turtle was hand selected by Wiz himself after countless rounds of sampling and selection. It is a unique cross of KK with the Jokers #31 pheno (White Rino x Jet Fuel Gelato). The flower was cultivated indoors and was packaged about two months before sampling.
Popping open the jar and freshness seal, I am met with outstanding and powerful aromas of fruit, gas and much more. There's a lot going on with the aroma including fruity essences of tart lemon and pineapple rind. There's also a strong chemical aroma that smells like chlorine gas. In the middle is an earthy and herbal mixture of pine needles, green tea and a touch of hibiscus. Finally, there's a sweet and creamy dose of sour cream with a bit of Z. With all of these different aromas tickling my olfactory senses, the complexity of this flower is off the charts!
These are also very attractive looking buds - one very large and one small and on the tighter side. Coloring is a vibrant mixture of greens - pale, medium and dark - combined with dark purple flower and medium bright orange pistils hanging out. It's very frosty with lots of trichomes showing.
The flower was a pleasure to break up and grind - very even, consistent and gritty with the perfect stacking for a joint. It also got louder and even more complex on the grind. Sticking the joint in my mouth to take a dry hit, I could smell the flower coming off the joint strongly before I even inhaled.
A dry hit has outstanding intensity and a very interesting mix of flavors. It's very creamy and spicy with some chili powder, pine and more of that herbal green tea.
Lighting up this joint brings out yet more complexity. It's smokey and woody on the inhale, lots of pine and some paprika. The burn is ideal with a very light salty ash and excellent hang time. The smoke is very thick and full-bodied. The exhale is really what sets it apart though, with outstanding smoothness, it's very fruity and gassy with lemon, kerosene and cream filling the room. The flavors on this one really linger for a while as well.
I really enjoyed how Baby Turtle hit me too. It was a bit of a creeper to me, starting off somewhat mild and building from there. The effects were balanced mentally for me but very relaxing physically. I could feel all the stress wash out of my body, from head to toe, leaving me thoroughly kicked back. I also noticed some back pain ease away for a good measure of time.
Baby Turtle is a very aromatic, complex and beautiful flower. I wish I could have experienced it firsthand growing in the field and I'll definitely be looking to pick up more of this and other Khalifa Kush flower in the future!
