Londonchello by Magic Meadow Farms

92 Points
This is my second time sampling flower from Magic Meadow Farms and my first experience with this unique cultivar, Londonchello, which received my second highest flower score - read on to find out more!
When I pop the jar, I am met immediately with supremely intense aromas of sour fruit, muddled berries and musk.
As I start to manipulate the flower I find a whole lot more going on, with essences of sour orange, muddled cranberries, pinesol, mesquite, skunk, mint, overripe bananas, and a musky basement smell. Grinding the flower really accentuates the pinesol aromas.
I had a tough time deciding what top level aroma categories to choose in my Ganjier SAP for this sample - definitely fruit, but picking the second one was hard since it also has elements of fuel, earth, and some sweetness too. This resulted in a complexity score at the high end of supreme.
The appearance of these nugs is very unique and pleasing. There were three medium to large size buds in the jar, very nicely trimmed to show the shape of the flower and with a little extra sugar leaf left on for protection - just the way I like it!
They have interesting coloring with a mixture of light green and purple flower and deep orange-red colored stigmas. They had a very tight and airy feeling before the grind and felt a little dry and crispy. However, they ground up super fluffy with more moisture than I expected and also stack very well into a joint.
I packed a ~1.5 gram joint, all the while noting how the intensity of the aroma continues to hold up very well.
A dry hit of the joint has outstanding intensity with flavors of sour cream, spicy pecans and more mesquite.
The journey continues as I light the joint and take my initial puffs. It lights easily and starts to burn down very evenly with a nice salty ash hanging on.
It has outstanding smoothness from start to finish, very lovely!
Intensity of flavors is very good, with more of that mesquite essence coming through, this time as bbq potato chips. There is also some more pine, mixed with a faint taste of lemon rinds. These are joined by a floral/herbal taste of lilac and mint, which really adds a unique dimension to the smoke.
The uniqueness of this cultivar continued for me when it came to my experience, which was quite rare for me.
I started off with a moderately fast come-on that was stimulating both mentally and physically. I had a little bit of teeth clenching after about 5 min.
Then it hit even me much stronger after about 10 minutes …my body and mind were both enveloped in a warm fuzzy blanket of haze and I found myself in a very relaxed, yet not sleepy state. My mind is totally awake and my body is tending towards relaxed - I felt all of the tension and any pain slip away while my mind was off dreaming up things to do.
This experience was much more nuanced than typical and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Based on my experience, this would be a great cultivar for doing anything mellow, creative, or socializing with friends. However, not for just before sleep!
I will certainly look out to try more flower from Magic Meadow Farms in the future!
