Orange Maltz Live Rosin by Shasta Hash Co.

I was judging at the Transbay Mendocino qualifier a couple of months ago and saw that Shasta Hash Co had a booth setup there. I had been hearing great things about the brand and was very interested to see their offerings. I got shown this jar of Orange Malts and I immediately had to get a jar of it! The aroma was pungent and made me salivate instantly, I knew I was in for a treat!

A strong aroma of a creamy orange cleaning agent hit my nostrils and got stuck in there. This jar of citrus was loud and it got stronger as the sweet and sour notes came into play. Smelling the jar alone, made me salivate and was ready for a dab immediately. The orange aroma got really heavy and began to lean towards a tangie citrus profile. The sweet and sour notes kept the citrus at bay and prevented it from going too heavy into the tangie profile, as though it was teasing you with those notes. After a few days out of the fridge, I began to notice some gassy and pine notes mixed into the orange notes.

There’s a pine element that comes in and shifts the entire profile into a citrus version of the famous Whitethorn Rose. I had to double check the jar I was dabbing. The citrus was very loud but beneath it was a sweet fruit punch layer, that intensified the flavor immensely. The citrus dominates but in a way where the fruit punch can shine along the citrus profile. After a few days out of the fridge, the flavor got heavier on the pine. It felt like I had three different jars within one.

The euphoria blast I received from this jar was strong. Wasn’t expecting such a strong feeling while I continued dabbing my original dab. Soon I felt a strong sensation all over my body. It never made me feel heavy or sluggish but the sensation would let me know I was heavily medicated. That feeling spread throughout and once I got into my head, I became easily distracted. I couldn’t finish thoughts or stay in task. I was sitting still but my mind was flying. The effects changed for me once I left the jar out of the fridge for a few days. The effects became a lot heavier and had me feeling sluggish. It went from a day time jar to a night time jar in a couple of days. Helped me sleep easy afterwards too!
