Ahhh, another Whitethorn Rose🌹review! Just when I thought I had experienced every angle on this wonderful flower, up pops yet another amazing product that showcases once again how diverse and functional it is across cannabis product categories. Read on to find out more about this Gold Medal winner at the 2024 California State Fair.
This single source flower and rosin infused pre-roll from the Pairist is about as good as pre-rolls get. Even with a package date that was over three months prior, this pre-roll can hang with fresh-rolled joints from premium flower - and probably best most of them!
The pre-roll is packaged in a very nice black matte tube with the identifiable red stenciled Pairist logo. "Huckleberry Hills" is noted on the tube clearly as the cultivator (which perhaps is the only issue I'd take up with this pre-roll, this mistake on the farm name spelling!) The roll itself is full, tight and topped off with a small twist. You can see the faint hues of purple flower through the light brown paper.
If you are unfamiliar with Whitethorn Rose (you should fix that as soon as possible), it is a cross of Paradise Punch and Lemon OG that has emerged as one of the most flavorful, potent and beloved cultivars from John and Rose🌹at Huckleberry Hill Farms.
Before jumping into the review, it should be mentioned that these single source rosin and flower pre-rolls from The Pairist are sourced from several esteemed Emerald Triangle craft cultivators and are available for around $11-15 - grab them quickly when you see them, and buy as many of the Whitethorn Rose as you can afford!
Immediately upon opening the tube, the aroma intensity is supreme - louder than opening most flower jars. This really blew me away as my nostrils picked up the familiar fruity, floral and funky aromas of Whitethorn Rose.
I untwist the end of the pre-roll a bit to increase the airflow and take a dry hit which has outstanding intensity and flavors of tropical fruit, berries and cream. I could leave this in my mouth puffing on the dry hit all day, it's so tasty!
Lighting up the joint, I take a few inhales and find the draw to be outstanding, just tight enough and not too restrictive. The flavors are delivered in a puff of thick smoke that I inhale back in deeply, combining to deliver supreme complexity and outstanding intensity of flavor.
The flavors have several different prominent layers and many supporting players as well. The fruity layer is very tropical and berry-like with almost too many different fruits coming to mind to list! Then there's a sweet floral layer that's like lavender, lilac and rose ice cream. Finally there are some spicy and herbal notes, with some funk and pungency rounding out the back end.
As I smoked down the joint, the burn and smoothness were both outstanding and the draw continued to deliver!
The effects were also absolutely outstanding. There is a rapid and smooth uptake for me, before I am finished with the joint, that brings on a bubbly effervescence of creativity and euphoria. I also find it is really good for taking away headaches. This, of course, may vary for each person and for each experience, but for me, I find the effects of Whitethorn Rose to be one of the most consistent cultivars across different product formulations.
This pre-roll from the Pairist really delivers and hands-down deserves the Gold Medal for Solventless Infused Pre-Rolls at the CA State Fair this year!
